Professions and Roles

  • Sales Representative – Le représentant commercial
    • Definition: A person who sells goods or services.
    • Example: “I am a sales representative for a tech company.”
  • Account Manager – Le gestionnaire de compte
    • Definition: A person responsible for managing customer relationships.
    • Example: “The account manager will handle your account and ensure your needs are met.”
  • Customer Service Representative – Le représentant du service client
    • Definition: A person who handles customer inquiries and issues.

Sales Process

  • Lead – Le lead
    • Definition: A potential customer.
    • Example: “We need to follow up with the lead to see if they are interested in our product.”
  • Prospect – Le prospect
    • Definition: A qualified lead with the potential to become a customer.
    • Example: “The prospect is very interested in our services.”
  • Pipeline – Le pipeline de vente
    • Definition: The series of steps a potential customer goes through before making a purchase.

  • Closing – La clôture

Sales Techniques

  • Upselling – La vente croisée or La vente à la hausse
    • Definition: Persuading a customer to purchase a more expensive product or service.
    • Example: “We upsold the customer on a premium package by highlighting its additional features.”
  • Cross-Selling – La vente croisée
    • Definition: Offering related products or services to complement the original purchase.

  • Cold Calling – L’appel froid
    • Definition: Making unsolicited phone calls to potential customers.

  • Handling Objections – Gérer les objections

Sales Metrics and Performance

  • Sales Target – L’objectif de vente
    • Definition: The amount of sales a salesperson is expected to achieve.

  • Commission – La commission
    • Definition: Compensation based on sales generated.
    • Example: “The salesperson earns a commission on every sale they make.”
  • Closing Ratio – Le taux de clôture

Customer Interaction

  • Customer – Le client
    • Definition: A person who buys goods or services.

    • Definition: A person or organization that buys services.

  • After-Sales Service – Le service après-vente
    • Definition: Service provided after a product has been sold, such as repairs.

  • Guarantee – La garantie
    • Definition: A promise that a product will be repaired or replaced if faulty.
    • Example: “The product comes with a one-year guarantee.”

Pricing and Payment

  • Quote – La citation
    • Definition: Providing a price estimate for a product or service.
    • Example: “Can you provide a quote for the services you offer?”
  • Invoice – La facture
    • Definition: A document requesting payment for goods or services.
    • Example: “Please pay the invoice by the end of the month.”
  • Discount – La réduction
    • Definition: A reduction in price.
    • Example: “We are offering a discount on all purchases made this week.”
  • Bulk Purchase – L’achat en gros
    • Definition: Buying large quantities of a product, usually at a lower price.

  • Value Proposition – La proposition de valeur

  • USP (Unique Selling Proposition) – L’USP (Proposition de Vente Unique)
    • Definition: A feature that makes a product or service stand out from competitors.

  • Advertising – La publicité
    • Definition: Promoting products or services through various media.

  • Promotion – La promotion
    • Definition: Activities aimed at increasing sales, such as discounts or special offers.

Business Transactions

  • Quote – Un devis

La quête du vocabulaire

D’après mon expérience (oui, “moi” à gauche ;)…

  • Soit les professionnels se sentent dépassés, parce qu’ils ont besoin d’un vocabulaire CLÉ.
  • Soit ils ne sont jamais vraiment satisfaits parce qu’ils ont besoin d’APPROCHES CLÉS avec un vocabulaire ciblé
